Cyanotype Book (Iteration 2), Untitled
Hand Bound Cyanotype Book, March 2021
18.5" x 8.5" x 1.5"
This is the second iteration of a three part book series, still in progress. This book consists of images taken from my family archive that are reconceptualized, printed as cyanotypes, and then hand bound into a book. The family images have been printed over each other numerous times as well as purposefully underexposed, overexposed, and bleached. Each image has portions that have been carefully removed to expose images from previous and next pages. Each page was hand bound and carefully encased in a tri fold cover also made of cyanotype prints.
This book explores the experience of an individual with memory loss as well as a fragmented memory. Every time we remember a memory it changes, when we experience new memories the old ones change as well. Over time they begin to overlap and fade out and suddenly you are unsure of what truly happened in the first place.
